“Hello Dada” came out of me thinking back on the last show I was in before I left Hong Kong, "A Cow's Head And A Horse's Jaw" show and the "What was that you said?" series that was part of the show.
This had me thinking about a range of things. Among these were what are the drivers for me making art? I have always been aware that a big part of this is my long term fascination with and interest in the DADA and Fluxus movements. My introduction to these two movements, and the freedom from the more formal art constraints I saw within them, were a large part in what set me on the path to making art.
Another was, with relocating to New York, reconsidering my place in the art world in general.
I felt that a response to those thoughts was needed. So here we go.
